The Magic World of Fractals

My first encounter with fractals happened when I

accidently stumbled upon

Janet Parke's website

in October 2004

I was blown away with the discovery

of images so hollistically fascinating,

it took me several hours

to catch my breath and  calm down enough to think

rationally again.

I'm a total novice when it comes to fractals,

but it is the artform

that keeps me the most spellbound ever!!

So for me to introduce you to fractals is probably the

most dangerous thing that can happen,

since I don't know enough about it to entertain you.

Apart from that I also have a phoby about maths that will drive

Einstein to a new definition of an idiot.

I mean, my math teacher burst out crying when

I announced my intention to proceed with it in grade 11.

So believe me, it's quite hectic.

But I can humbly tell you that it is computer images

created with mathematical formulas.

And it's serious business with

serious artists involved!!

If you want to faint now: don't!

I mean, I didn't, so why should you? :-)

Thanks to the dedication of several maestros de mathematicio

( my description for superior intellect in as many different

languages as possible at once )

several programs have been designed to make life a lot

easier on the fractal front.

Uhumm, that is as far is the calculations is concerned.

The challenge to master the programs remains yours, I'm afraid.

And believe me, as you will notice from my gallery,

I'm still mostly afraid!
