This tutorial is
written for PSP7 but can be done in PSP8
Open a new transparent
image 500 x 500 Open your tube and choose one light and one dark
color from it. Make a
gradient with the two colors
with these settings:
Angle 89 Repeat 1
Invert checked!
Fill the canvas with it.

Effects
/ Plugins / Simple filters / Quarter corner - standard Select the black part of
the image with your Magic wand and fill with the gradient. Keep
Selected
Selections
/ Invert. Open your gradient and UNCHECK Invert. Now fill the other half again
with the gradient.
Keep
Selected
Effects / Plugins / Eyecandy4000 / Corona with the following settings
Use
your dark color in the "Color"- setting

Selections /
Invert Edit and Copy.
Repeat the Corona
effect
With the Selections still active
Selections / Select None
Edit / Paste as New Layer Image / Flip and Image / Mirror this
layer and
place it right in the
bottom corner of your canvas.
X-out layer 1. Click with
your magic wand
in the empty space of the
canvas.
Selections / Invert
and repeat the Corona
effect.
Selections / Select None
and undo
the red-X from layer
1( toggle the visibility ON).
Merge layers.
Activate your tube and resize to 87%.
Make sure " Resize All layers"
is
checked.
Edit / Copy and Edit / Paste as New Layer" onto your
canvas. Repeat the Corona effect.
Repeat the Corona effect
once more but this time change the
color to your light color.
!!!
Layers / Duplicate
Move this layer to above the merged layer
and
reduce the Opacity to 10 or 15 %, depending on
the way it
looks best to you.
Shift the image a bit to the right on
the canvas ( see the example
above).
Open the
"Bolletjies.tub".
Edit/ Copy and
Edit / Paste as New Layer
onto your canvas.
Drag this layer above the merged layer and
duplicate it.
Image / Mirror.
Change the opacity of both these layers
to 44%
Change your color styles as
follows:
Switch your foreground and
background colors so
that your dark color is the
foreground color.
Set your background on Pattern and select the goldfill
pattern.

Layers / New Raster Layer
Go to your Preset Shape
tools
and choose the Rectangular shape with these
settings:
Create as Vector; Anti-Alias
checked,
Line width 1

Draw a rectangular in the top part of the canvas,
wide and high enough to accommodate text.
Make sure this layer is the top layer in your Layer palet.
Right- click
on this layer in your Layer palette and convert to raster
layer.
Change the opacity of this layer to 50%
and the
Blend Mode to
Luminance.
Duplicate this layer and rotate 90 degrees to the right.
Position it on
the right side of the canvas.
Layers / New Raster
layer.
Open
the Text Tool and choose a font.
I used "Kelt" size 36. Floating should be
checked.
Type
in your text and keep selected.
Layer / New Raster
layer
Make sure this new layer is
active
Effects / 3D Effects / Cut
Out - with these settings:
Horizontal and Vertical
1;
Opacity 50; Blur
2.5

Effects / 3D Effects
/ Drop Shadow with the color WHITE!!
Settings:
Vertical and Horizontal
1
Opacity 50
Blur 2

Selections / Select None
Layers / New Raster layer
Click on your Text Tool
again.
This time you are going to write vertically.
Keep Selected and
add a new raster layer.
On this layer: repeat the
Cut Out and Drop Shadow effects.
Selections / Select None.
Layers / Merge All (
flatten)
Image / Add Borders of 2 pixels (any
color not in the image)
Select with your magic wand and fill
with the gold fill pattern. Effects / 3D Effects / Inner Bevel / Metallic
preset
Resize your image ( all layers checked)
to 87%
and you're
done!
